WHO I AM ? - SarahKate Butterworth I have always been artistic, though I didn’t discover my medium until 2003 while on a 3 year adventure in Hawaii. I returned to my hometown of Boulder, Colorado with a vision to bring the art of henna here. After becoming a mother and my path of fertility, I found my calling in honoring women’s pregnancies and celebrating the birth of their babies with henna. This is not my original idea, it is a tradition that comes to us from the Berber culture of North Africa. For the past 7 years I’ve adorned over 400 pregnant women for my book series, Blessed Belly, Blessed Baby: Honoring Motherhood with Henna Tattoos, Volume 5 was released on Mother’s Day 2015.
When I’m not painting, drawing or photographing, I can be found playing piano, singing and dancing…. as well as cooking, cleaning, and homeschooling! I feel so grateful to live this artFULL life.
I see clients week days, weekends and evenings by special request. You are welcome in my studio or I'll come to you.
Remember: The best photos happen 2 or 3 days after henna is applied.
